This category has some of my favourite products to help you to protect your plants from the ravages of both pests, and the weather.
Some great growing tunnels, frames and cloches will, between them, help to provide a barrier to pests and that bit of extra protection from the weather.
I've included a selection of some of my favourite products here, and all of them have been tried and tested in my own garden and are things I myself use regularly. I'm not that easy to impress, but these are things that really make a difference!
Protecting your vegetable plants can make a massive difference to the end results - it is about preventing pests from ever getting close to your plants, and about controlling some of those pests in an environmentally acceptable and safe manner. It also means guarding against adverse weather - With a little extra warmth you can often hugely extend the growing and cropping season and get your plants off to a healthy and happy start.
I’ve included some biological controls too – natural organisms which can control many of the common pests you’ll be likely to come across in your garden...and all without endangering children (or other humans!), pets or wildlife, and without any risk of chemical contaminants or residues. I’ve been a huge fan of biological pest control for many, many years, and am impressed by the results too. Biological controls are only suitable for certain situations, and for use at specific times of year, so do check the information I've given before you buy.
