Last night there was yet another feast of Tomato Sakura tomato sauce made exclusively from my 'Grow Your Own with Pippa Greenwood' produce. The real star was 'Sakura' a great outdoor tomato which I have only been growing for a few years. Each plant had several long trusses of extremely tasty rounded fruits and I've never known a tomatoes grown outside to produce so many fruits (and with not a trace of tomato blight!) Because I myself obviously grow several of all the plants I sell, so that I can be sure I know exactly what they're doing, what's going well and if anything is going wrong, I planted some Sakura tomatoes in the garden, and some in pots and some in the greenhouse. Success all round, but it was the outdoor crop that really impressed me....and although the plants are now long since composted, I'd thoroughly recommend this variety, combined, of course with some finely chopped Setton onion and some Solent Wight garlic and, a couple of non 'Grow Your Own' ingredients such as olive oil, basil and pesto. DELICIOUS!!
