Vegetable Plants at risk from Fleece re-use

13 October 2010

Keep your vegetable plants and all other grow your own crops, and ornamentals healthy : Make sure that you carefully wash and then dry fleece between uses.  It seems that several fungal pathogens can successfully carry over from one use to the next on fleece which has not been cleaned up properly.  So after use, wash it and hang it out to dry thoroughly before re-using or storing.  If the sun is shining, so much the better as UV light can kill off many fungal spores too. it makes sense, and still allows you to re-use fleece at every opportunity!
