This year the slugs and snails in my garden are noticeably less troublesome than usual, presumably down to that serious winter we had. I even have the lettuces from my @grow Your Own with Pippa Greenwood' selection, some of which are pure green (and so generally the most susceptible to slug attack), thriving. But all the same those miserable molluscs are still making their presence felt. So a while back I sent an advice email to all my Grow Your Own with Pippa Greenwood clients, and it was all about slug and snail control, what to do and when, suggesting a whole host of different things to try. A while later I had a fantastic email from someone who had brought a Grow Your Own gift voucher for her grown up son, she commented quite simply that , 'I have just had a really surreal experience....I have had a conversation about slugs with my son!' She then added that her son's crops were doing well and he was loving the experience of growing his own vegetables for the first time using the gift she had given him. Great to have feed back about how it is all going, especially when it shows how gardening can broaden the mind!!
