Stewart Garden and I would love you to encourage your local schools to get involved with the new Stewart Garden Schools campaign. A perfect way to get kids into Grow Your Own, vegetable growing and maybe even encourage their parents too!
We're looking for about 100 schools to take part in the 2012/2013 season. Schools can nominate themselves or be nominated by a local garden centres. Schools can submit pictures and application forms to win a prize which the judging team and I will announce in July 2013. The winning school will receive£2,000 to be spent at their Stewart Garden Schools garden centre...and the second and third place schools will receive £1,500 and £750 respectively. But the really good news is that, every school that enters will receive a kit consisting of a range of great gardening products such as :
A booklet about gardening , written by me especially for the campaign.
10 compost scoops
5 potting trays
a Kitchen Garden Propagator set,
50 plant pots
5 Corinthian troughs
8 x 5 litre watering cans
3 packets of 'Grow Your Own with Pippa Greenwood' vegetable seeds.
